SIMMERMAN, Robert L - KIA - WWII

The last rites for Pfc. Robert L. Simmerman wer eheld Saturday afternoon from McCurry Funeral Home with Mr. Paul Robinson as minister. Robert was the son of Mrs. Maude Lady and stepfather Ora Lady. He was born March 21, 1925 in Greencastle.  He was called into the Army in 1943 and was Killed In Action in Luxembourg, Jan 1, 1945.  He was well known by every one and all who knew him loved him dearly.  He leaves to mourn his death, his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Ora Lady; two brothers, James and Forest Simmerman and families; two sisters, Mrs. Russell Grimes, Mrs. Joe Allee and families; two half brothers, Ora C. and James R. Lady; three half sisters, Maxine, Margaret at home and Mrs. Charles J. WOod and family, besides a host of other relatives and friends.  

Each day for me, my father cares
Each day for me my burden shares
Each day for me my sorrow bears
He loves us till, why should we borrow
One anxious thought for the tomorrow?
He will lift and heal all our sorrow.

We wish to thank Mr. McCurry, the American Legion and Paul Robinson and wife and all his friends for the nice flowers during our line or sorrow. And we wish to thank the guard Sgt Quinn who came with hm.  Sadly missed by his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Ora Lady and brothers and sisters and grandparents
