Rev. Thomas J. Shuey, pastor of the University Place Christian Church, organizer and president of the Northwest Chautauqua Assembly secretary - treasurer of the Shaw Pries Lyceum Bureau and brother of H.O. Shuey, president of the Citizen's National Bank died last night of pneumonia. He was 56 years old. Rev. Dr. Shuey is survived by a widow, two sons, Franklin Shuey, cashier in the Citizens National Bank and Paul Shuey and two daughters, Misses Nell and Mabel Shuey. Born in Putnam County, Indiana, he was reared on a farm and then educated at DePauw University and Asbury College. He was married when he was 25 years old. At age 35 he entered the ministry. His first charge was at Youngs Chapel near Crawfordsville, Ind. He was pastor then at various times of the Memorial Christian Church at Rock Island, Ill, Abington, Ill and various churches in Indiana. Four years ago last November he was called to Seattle. --- typed by kbz
