SHORTLE, Marguerite - Putnam

Winamac – Marguerite R. Shortle, 74, at 715 S. Market, died at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday Nov 15 in Pulaski Memorial Hospital. She was born May 24, 1921 in Greencastle. Her marriage was to John S. Shortle July 17, 1943 in Greencastle. He died Dec 15, 1992. Mr. Shortle had been a resident of Winamac since 1947, moving there from Aurora. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Winamac, Tri-Chi sorority, Woman’s Club and was a tour guide at the Snite Museum of Art at Notre Dame University. Surviving are four daughters: Sylvia Burgin of Kokomo; Susan Shortle of Winamach; Sarah Helen Nimick of Burlington, Vt and Margie Lee Shortle-Murphy of Columbus, Ind; two sons, the Rev. John Shortle of LaPorte and David Shortle of Baltimore, Md; a sister, Meredith Lamont of Scotland; and a brother, Gilbert Reeves of Kansas City, Mo.
