SHELTON, Elizabeth D. - Putnam

Mrs. Elizabeth D. Shelton, 84, 1003 W. 4th St, died at 3 a.m. Monday at 139 W. 13th St after an illness of several years. She was born Jan 28, 1873 in Groveland, Ind, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Jackson. She came to Anderson in 1915 and was a member of the First EUB Church and Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Merritt, Marion; one son, Robert Shelton, Anderson; one brother, Paul Jackson, North Salem; four grandchildren, Mrs. Walter Higgins, Lafayette; Jack and John Shelton, Anderson and Richard Merritt, Burbank, Calif and one great grandchild.  The body was taken to the Harold E. Rozelle Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. by Dr. HL Lanaham, past or the First EUB Church. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery south of Pendleton. Friends will be received at the funeral home after noon today. The Eastern Star will conduct services this evening at 8 o’clock at the funeral home. - kbz
