SHAW, Upton

“Cloverdale news” – Mr. Upton Shaw who lived two and a half miles northeast of this place and owned a very large farm was riding his horse in the vicinity of Wm. Hubbard’s on last Thursday; the horse stumble and threw Mr. Shaw over his head and so badly injured him that he died the next day. She could not get up and Mrs. Hubbard happening to see him laying in the road sent for help and got him up, his family took him home in a wagon. He was buried on Saturday. He was an old man and quite weak.
