SCOTT, Walter - Putnam

ROACHDALE — Walter Scott, 70, of Roachdale, died in his home Saturday. He had worked for the Putnam County Highway Department for seven years and was a member of the Fincastle Community Church. Born Oct. 6, 1906, in Putnam County, he was a son of Omer and Mamie Obenchain Scott. He was married to Olive Whitaker on Aug. 27, 1957. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Virginia Simpson of Terre Haute and Patsy King of Greencastle; a brother, Fay Scott of Bainbridge; a sister, Opal Witt of Roachdale; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Two sisters are deceased. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Perkins Funeral Home with burial in Roachdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
