RUSSELLVILLE – Fred Scott, 53, of Russellville, a self-employed mechanic, died Tuesday in Veterans’ Administration Hospital at Indianapolis after an extended illness. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion. He also held membership in the Russellville Masonic Lodge. Born Dec. 1, 1920, at Frankfort, he was the son of Frederick and Nancy Chance Scott. Survivors include the widow, Margaret; a son Fred and daughter Leila, both at home, and two nephews. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in McGaughey & Son Funeral Home here. Burial will be in the Russellville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. A family spokesman requested there be no floral memorials. – jlr
