GREENCASTLE – Lesley Earl Scobee, 83, of Rt. 1, Jamestown, a former Putnam County resident, died Monday afternoon in Hendricks County Hospital at Danville. He was a self-employed arc welder who lived most of his life in Putnam County. Mr. Scobee was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was born Aug. 5, 1890, in Greencastle Township, a son of Robert L. and Luanna Henry Scobee. On Dec. 24, 1913, he was married to Altha Hathaway, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Neff of Illinois and Mrs. Katherine Beam of Jamestown; a son, Robert of Vasalia, Calif.; a brother, Russell of Greencastle; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Hopkins Funeral Home here. Burial will be in Brick Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. – jlr
