Claude C. Scobee, well known Bainbridge resident passed away Sunday morning at the Putnam County hospital where he had been a patient for one day. Mr. Scobee was born June 9, 1889 in Monroe Township, the son of John and Lulabelle Brown Scobee. He was married to Hazel Michael in 1909. He was a life long resident of Putnam County and member of the Bainbridge Methodist Church. He was a painter and decorator by trade. Since 1941 he had assisted in the Sands Funeral Home in Bainbridge. Survivors are the wife, three sons, Marvin, Indianapolis; Hershel, Fillmore; and Stanley of Brownsburg; one daughter, Mrs. Woodrow Abbott, Salina, Kansas; one brother, Harold, Greencastle; one sister, Lillian Joseph, Indianapolis and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Freda and Mrs. Wilma Watson and one grandson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 from the Hopkins-Walton Funeral Home in Bainbridge. Interment will be in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home in Bainbridge after 7 o’clock Monday.
