Miss Clara Sandy who for the past 11 years lived alone in her home on South Meridian Streets passed away last week. In the late afternoon of Monday of last week Miss Ella Walsh called on her and talked with her in her home for a short time.  This was the last time she was seen alive.  On Friday afternoon about 2 o’clock Rev. Plew, a neighbor and another neighbor went to the house and found all doors and windows securely fasted.  They broke open a window and found Miss Sandy dressed for her night’s rest, lying on the bed.  It was thought that she had been dead for several days.  In life Miss Sandy was a good, honest and kind woman. Several years ago she gave music lessons to a class here. On Saturday morning, her sister, Mrs. Clarinda Young and nephew Dr. Sluss of Indianapolis came and took possession of the body and property.  Sunday morning she was removed to Cloverdale and after a short funeral service she was laid at rest beside her brother, John Sandy.   -– kbz
