SALLUST, Gilbert C. - Putnam

Funeral services for Gilbert C. Sallust, 66, who died of pneumonia Thursday morning of last week were held at the Chastain funeral home here Sunday afternoon. He had been ill several months. Mr. Sallust was a graduate of the Indiana Veterinarian school of Indianapolis and practiced his profession in Bainbridge and Elwood for many years. He maintained a farm near here but had retired from active work several years ago because of poor health. He was born near Stillesville June 11, 1875, a son of John and Sarah Jones Sallust. He was married September 11, 1904, to Velma Duncan who survives. Other survivors are a son Frederick T. Sallust of Brooklyn, New York; two brothers; Oscar Sallust of Greencastle and Ernest Sallust of Gosport; a sister, Mrs. Florence Bart of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and three grandchildren; Patsy of Roachdale and Louise and Gilbert of Brooklyn, New York    --- thanks so much to Marilyn Walker for donating her wonderful Roachdale Times obituary file for use on this site
