RUMLEY, Jesse C. - Putnam

Jesse C. Rumley was born March 8, 1882 in Amo, Indiana the son of Clem and Carrie Mae Upton Rumley.  He spent his early boyhood in the Amo community where he attended school.  After his first marriage, his home was blessed with two children, Mrs. Marjorie McCullough, Lawrenceville and a son, Roy who preceded him in death.  Later he was married to Daisy May Williams to this union were born six children: Robert and Harold, Greencastle, Mrs. Betty Gilley and Mrs. Sarah Meadows, Fillmore, Mrs. Carolyn Lewis, at home.  One daughter Wanda Ash preceded him in death in April 1966.  Besides his family, he is survived by one brother, Ralph of Phoenix, Ariz and leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn his passing.  Jesse expressed his wish to get well and care for his wife and family.  He always welcome Rev. Lone who came to pray with him.  We know he is in the hands of a just God and all things work together for those who love the Lord. (poem at opening and closing of this obit)   -– kbz
