RUDISILL, Hiram

Hiram C. Rudisill was born near Bainbridge, Indiana Jan. 18, 18406 and was the son of David and Jennie Rudisill. He spent his boyhood days the farm where he was born and attended school at the old Bainbridge Academy. During his school days he showed marked ability and was the recepient of many gift books from his teachers as rewards for work well done. At an early age he learned the carpenter’s trade which profession he followed for several years On June 10, 1874 he was united in marriage to Tabitha L. Littel. To this union were born three children—David H, Mabel and Ruby E. Mr. Rudisill was a Resident of Greencastle for over forty years and was always interested in civic matters and movements tending for the promotion and betterment of the town. He was a keen lover of nature and all outdoor life and among the children for whom he always had a kindly word, he was well beloved. In politics he was a staunch Democrat and a dependable friend of the party. He was never affiliated with any church, but was a firm believer In the commandment “Do unto others as you would be done by.” He was a true and faithful friend to the poor and was ever ready and willing to assist those less fortunate. To his family he was devoted and indulgent, never failing in any duty as a husband and father On April 6, 1921 he suffered a stroke of paralysis which terminated in his death Monday, May 23. Surviving him are the widow, two daughters, Mrs. T E. Darnall of Greenfield and Mrs. Geo. W Lipps of Indianapolis, his son having preceded him in death Jan. 8, 1916. The funeral was held at the home Wednesday afternoon. May 25. the Rev. Marshall of the Christian Church conducting the services. Interment was at For. iest Hill Cemetery.
