Died Jan 11th after a brief sickness of heart disease, Patrick O. Ruark, aged 68 years. Deceased was a native of Ireland and was in comfortable circumstances but was reduced to poverty by the terrible famine of 1848. He determined to seek a home in America and came to this country in 1852 leaving behind him his wife and children, being too poor to pay their way. By industry and economy he soon earned money sufficient to bring his family to this country and settled in Greencastle in 1856, where he resided up to his death. He acquired a comfortable home and round a worth family of 7 daughters and one son, who with his widow mourn his loss. He was a kind father, affectionate husband, a peaceable industrious citizen and devout Christian. He had the confidence and respect of all who knew him, as was attested by the large number of people who attended him to the grave. Greencastle, Ind Jan 25, 1874
