Henry H. Rollings age seventy five a Putnam County farmer committed suicide last night by shooting himself through the head with a 32 caliber revolver. A physician told Rollings last week that he was suffering from cancer of the stomach. this is believed to have caused him to take his life. Mr Rollings made his home with Mrs. Louis Bullerdick, his daughter. – thanks to Teresa R.

Henry H. Rollings was born in Washington township, Putnam county, February 17, 1844. He was united in marriage to Maria E. Huffman, of Reelsville, Ind., Feb. 15, 1870. This union was blest with four children— Rosa, who died in infancy; Willis E. Rollings of Poland, Ind.; Frank Rollings, of Cleveland, O., and Margaret E. Builerdick, of Poland, Ind. His wife preceded him in death August 2, 1898. Henry Rollings was an honest, industrious, upright man in all his dealings. His aim was always to be helpful to those about him. He leaves to mourn his departure three brothers — John Rollings of Oklahoma, William of Kansas, and Scott of Asherville. Ind; two sisters— Mrs. Kate Bolin of Reelsville and Mrs. Jane Haypenny of Harmony; four half-brothers—Lafavette, James, Ben and Mack Rollings—and the step-mother, two sons and one daughter, ten grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He died after nearly one year’s illness at the home of his daughter, Mrs.Lewis Builerdick, at Poland, Ind., February 21, 1919, at the age of 75 years, 4 days. Funeral services were conducted at the Mill Creek church by Elder L. H. Athey, of Greencastle. Burial at Reelsville cemetery.—kbz
