Word was received here Thursday by Alan Riggs of Lafayette of the death of his grandmother, Mrs. Nellye Riggs, 87, at Greencastle. Mrs. Riggs died at 4 a.m. Thursday in Putnam County Hospital, Greencastle. Mrs. Riggs lived for a time in Lafayette with her son, Dale Riggs, who retired 10 years ago to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He formerly worked with City Service Oil Co as a wholesale distributor and service station operator. Mrs. Riggs was born and reared at Greencastle and lived at Kentland from 1919-1945 when she moved back to Greencastle. Her husband died in 1943. Dale Riggs is the only immediate survivor. Services will be at Greencastle with burial at Kentland. – kbz
