Terre Haute, Ind – Frank Riddle, 62,
retired chief of police for Terre Haute and assistant superintendent of the
Indiana State Farm at Putnamville, died yesterday in his home. Mr. Riddle, who
lived in Putnamville, was the first person to retire with the rank of chief
from the Terre Haute Police Department.
He was a member of the department for 28 years under Former Mayor Ralph
Tucker. He retired in February 1967. In
1954 he was president of the Indiana Association of Chiefs of Police. He also
was a graduate of the narcotics school sponsored by the United States Treasurer
Department. Services will be held at 11
a.m. Friday in the United Methodist Church here, with burial in Rose Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 pm. Thursday in Bedino Peace Chapel at Terre Haute.
Survivors include the widow, Ann Riddle. - kbz
