RICE, Fred G. - Putnam

Fred G. Rice, a former resident of Roachdale, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Nettie Rusie, in Indianapolis Saturday. He had been ill several years. He was a brother of Frank and Clarence Rice of this place and was formerly postmaster here. He was a member of the local Methodist church. Mr. Rice was born here July 25, 1883, a son of James A. and Elizabeth Rice, and in 1909 he was married to Mary Howard of Greencastle, who survives. He had been employed as a barber in Indianapolis prior to his death. In addition to the widow, sister and two brothers, five nephews and a niece survive. Funeral services were held at the Chastain funeral home Monday afternoon with Rev. C. L. Airhart of New Market in charge.
