RICE, Esther C. - Putnam

Esther C. RICE, 87, died in her home at Roachdale Monday. She taught home economics in Waynetown, North Salem and Roachdale schools for several years. She was a member of the Roachdale Presbyterian Church, a 67-year member of the Roachdale Order of Eastern Star; Faithful Followers; Thursday Bridge Club; Beta Sigma Chi and Daughters of the America Revolution. She was a graduate of Butler University and received her master's degree from Indiana State University. Mrs. rice was born at Roachdale Nov 23, 1896 to James E. and Laura SUTHERLIN CROSBY. She was married at Indianapolis july 30, 1938 to Harry Rice who preceded her in death in 1959. Surviving are two brothesr, Robert of Roachdale and Ralph of Ladoga; a niece, 3 nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p. m. Thursday in Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, Roachdale. Burial in Roachdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 4-8 p. m. Wednesday.
