Died of typhoid fever March 18th, 1863, after an illness of six days on the Tallahatchie River, Wm. H. Rambo son of Mr. David Rambo of this county. The deceased was a soldier, we believe of the 43d Indiana Regiment – a brave, patriotic young man and a member of the Methodist E. Church. It is said that he died as he had lived, evicing the reality of his faith by a humble but firm reliance on the Savior of the world “Far away from friends and home he died, from those whose presence he in death might crave; in bitter anguish the young soldier siged, at meeting thus so far from home a grave.”
