Mrs. Carrie Pyle, 70, mother of Mrs. Russell Gale, 6 North Grove Avenue  died about 5 o’clock this morning at the home of another daughter, Mrs. John Gough at Roachdale, Ind. Mrs. Pyle had resided in Rockford until recently when she went to Indiana.  She was born at Sulphur Lick, Ky in 1867.  Her husband, William Pyle died Feb 4, 1917.  Besides Mrs. Gale and Mrs. Gough she is survived by five other children: Nova Pyle of Clinton, Ind; Smith Pyle of Ladoga, Ind; Thomas Pyle, Milwaukee, Wis; Hayse and John Pyle of Rockford, four brothers, one sister, 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  One son, Harland, died in 1927.  Funeral arrangements have not as yet been completed. – Note: Born May 5, 1867 Monroe County, Kentucky.(North American Family Histories desc History and Genealogy of the Harlan Family p 612  kbz

Mrs. Carrie Pyle, 70, died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Arthur Sanders, near here early Thursday morning. Immediate survivors include five sons and two daughters: Nova, Clinton, Smith Pyle, Lulu Gough of Roachdale; Beatrice Gale, Freeport, Illinois; Thomas of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Hays and John of Rockford, Illinois. One son, Harold died in 1918. Other survivors are five brothers, one sister,fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Gough, Saturday afternoon, with burial in Roachdale cemetery. She was the daughter of James and Julia Hays, born May 5, 1867 in Monroe County, Kentucky. She married December 19, 1883 to William T.
