On Wednesday May 11 the people of Bainbridge were called to mourn the death of Richard F. Priest. He was born Jan 20, 1865; died May 11, 1892 aged 27 years, 3 months and 18 days. Deceased was attending school at Danville when taken sick but was taken to his home in Bainbridge by his parents where he lay in suffering for 5 weeks when death called him away. He was a school teacher in his home district in Clinton Township, where ehe spent his school days and was engaged for another term. He attended school at Terre Haute and at Danville preparing himself for a teacher. And now we are brought to realize that we have lost one of our friends, a promising young man who was making a good start in life. He will be missed at home. He will be missed in company and in the school room. There is no boy to take the vacant chair in the family circle and no one to take his place in the large circle of friends. When death laid its icy hand upon him, although a member of no church, he said, βIt is all right; I am ready to go.β Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Lane at the Christian Church at Bainbridge on Thursday. The remains were laid to rest in the Bainbridge cemetery. He leaves a father and mother, three brothers and one sister and a large circle of friends to mourn his loss. He was an obedient son, a loving brother and a true friend. May our sympathy be with the heart broken family. ALH β kbz
