Greencastle, Ind Jan 10 – The southbound passenger train on the Monon railroad due here at 2:41 o’clock Wednesday while running an hour late instantly killed Fern Priest, aged 17 years at Bainbridge. The young man had delivered a load of hogs to the Bainbridge stockyards and was returning to his home on a motor truck when killed.  He died instantly and was carried on the pilot of the engine several hundred yards. The train does not stop at Bainbridge and Priest failed to hear the warning signal at the crossing because of the noise of his truck.  Priest was an orphan and lived with Jesse Coffman. – kbz
