PRIEST, Emma Finley - Putnam

Mrs. Emma Finley Priest, wife of Ashton L. Priest, died at their home, 1934 Charles Street, Wednesday evening, following a stroke. Born in Putnam County in 1857, most of her life was spent in the vicinity of Bainbridge. She was a talented musician and for many years was organist in the Christian Church there. The family moved to Lafayette 15 years ago and she and Mr. Priest were planning to celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary next month. Surviving besides the husband are three children: Lee Priest of Coalinga, Calif; Fred Priest of Kirklin and Edward M. Priest of Lafayette. The body was taken to Bainbridge for services at 2, Friday at the Sands Funeral Home. Burial in Brick Chapel cemetery. - transcribed by kbz
