A former Lafayette couple, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Priest, lost their lives in a Christmas Day automobile crash at Ventura, Cal their home. Word of the tragedy was received here Wednesday night by Mr. Priest’s brother, Edward M. Priest, 1934 Charles Street and at Battle Ground by Mrs. Priest’s sister, Mrs. Edna Granger. Mr. Priest was 63, his wife, 62.  Details were lacking. The couple lived here on North 13th Street before going to California in 1917.  Mr. Priest formerly was a Monon railroad engineer.  He had just retired from an oil field superintendency.  Mrs. Priest’s maiden name was Browning and she formerly lived at Greencastle. Besides the Lafayette brother, Mr. Priest is survived by another brother, Fred Priest of Kirklin. The couple is also survived by two sons, Howard Priest, Pasadena, Cal and Donald Priest, Ventura. – kbz
