Word has been received here by relatives that Ashton Priest of Lafayette has suffered a severe stroke. His condition is reported quite serious.
Ashton L. Priest, 88, died after an illness of a year Monday morning at 7:45 at the home of his son, Edward M. Priest, 1934 Charles Street with whom he resided. Born at Bainbridge, he was a member of Bainbridge Masonic lodge and the Christian Church there. He was married to Emma Finley, who died six years ago. A retired farmer, he came to Lafayette about 20 years ago to reside with his son. Surviving are two sons, Edward at whose home he died and Fred T. Priest, of Kirklin.
