PRESTON - Mary Wilder

Mrs. Mary Wilder Preston, 80, died at her home in Fairfield, Saturday. She was the daughter of the late Charles Peabody Wilder and Eloise Walker Wilder, and moved with her parents from Newark, Ohio where she was born to Indianapolis about 1865.  Her parents were among the founders and earliest members of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Her father was a bookseller and stationer, located on East Washington St at "The Sign of the Big Book," and was for some time connected with the Daily Gazette. Mary Wilder was married to the Dr. AL Preston in 1886.  Dr. Pesterson, the son of Dr. AG Preston of Greencastle died Feb 23, 1935. Surviving Mrs. Preston are two children, Ruth and Robert Preston and two grandchildren, Margaret and Robert McClure Preston and one nephew, John R. Morton, all of Fairfield. Her sisters, Mrs. Fanny Wilder Winchester and Mrs. Alikce Wilder Morton died in 1925 and her brother, Charles Wilder died in 1937.  Funeral services were held at the Preston residence in Fairfield, Tuesday FReb 27 at 2 p.m. with burial in the North cemetery near Fairfield.  kbz
