Forrest W. Potter, 70, City Resident, Dies In Hospital

Forrest W. Potter, 70, of 1103 Danville Ave., retired employe of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau, died at 3:45 a. m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette.

He had been in failing health for several months and had been a patient at the hospital since Thursday afternoon.

Mr. Potter had lived in Crawfordsville for about 10 years. Prior to that time, he resided in the Russellville area. He was born in Russellville April 20, 1896, the son of George W. and, Nettie Grimes Potter.

He married Beulah M. Watkins in July, 1920. She preceded him in death.

Mr. Potter was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church in Crawfordsville. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the Russellville American Legion.

He had been employed for many years by the Farm Bureau.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Dale, and a daughter, Helen.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jack Whittington, and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Potter, both of Crawfordsville; five sisters, Mrs. Morris Berry of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Ethel Lawter and Mrs. Gladys Spencer, both of Russellville, Mrs. Grace Maddox of Alexandria, Va., and Mrs. Okie Rambo of Anderson, Ind.; a brother, Roy Potter of Riverside, Calif., and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. Rev. Clarence Loveland will officiate. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery at Russellville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p. m. Saturday.
