Funeral Tuesday For Roy Porter
Roy Porter, 73, died Saturday afternoon at his residence near Bainbridge.

He was born June 23, 1693, the son of Alec and Martha Johnson Porter.

Mr. Porter was a prominent farmer in the Brick Chapel community, and a former member of the Greencastle Moose Lodge and the Portland Mills Modem Woodmen.

Survivors are: his wife, Charlotte Eiteljorge Porter; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Vanlandingham, Greencastle, R. 1; Mrs. Charles Elia, Fairbanks, Alaska and Mrs. Lloyd Cully, Greencastle; two sons, William, Greencastle, R. 1 and Jack, Bainbridge; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2;00 p. m. at the Hopkins-Walton Funeral Home in Greencastle. Rev. Paul Robinson will officiate. Interment will be in Portland Mills Cemetery.

MARRIED 50 YEARS
Mr. and Mrs. J. Roy Porter celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary Dec. 20 at Old Trail Inn with a family dinner. The couple have five children, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. They were all present except their oldest daughter and husband, Mrs. Virginia Elia of Chicago. Also present was Roy's only sister, Mrs. Elsie Thompson, and Mrs. Ora Porter and two sons, Paul and Noel.
