LOCAL MAN'S SISTER DIES; RITES SUNDAY

Mrs. Effie E. Porter, 71, died at her home near Rockville on Thursday. She was a sister of William Gain of Greencastle.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 11 a. m. from the Portland Mills Christian church of which she was a member. Burial will be in the Mt. Moriah cemetery.

Mrs. Porter was the daughter of James and Lavina McIntosh Bain.

ROCKVILLE-Mrs. Effie F. Porter, 71, died at 7:30 a. m. Thursday at her home on RFD 1, Rockville.

A native of Parke County, Mrs. Porter was the daughter of James Bain and Lavina McIntosh Bain.

Surviving, in addition to the husband, are six sons, Lee of Mishawaka, Glen of Marshall, Russell of Madison, Harley of Carbon, James of Indianapolis and Robert of Hollandsburg; a daughter, Mrs. Beulah Confer of Indianapolis; a brother, William Bain of Greencastle, a sister, Mrs. Winnie Thomas of near Rockville, and 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a. m. Sunday at the Portland Mills Christian Church, of which Mrs. Porter was a member. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Friends may call at the Barnes Mortuary until time to remove the body to the church.
