PIERCE, J.W. - Putnam

JW Pierce, age 68 died at his home in St. Matthews, Kentucky this morning at 9:30 o’clock suffering a stroke of paralysis.  Mr. Pierce was formerly from Greencastle.  He leaves to survive, a wife, brother, RL Pierce of Greencastle and a sister, Jennie Hirt of Indianapolis. Mrs. and Mrs. RL Pierce and Mrs. Harry Wells have gone to Shelbyville, KY where they will attend the funeral of JW Pierce brother of RL Pierce, whose death occurred early Thursday morning.  The funeral will be this afternoon at 4 o’clock.  Mrs. Pierce is a former Greencastle resident.
