PICKENS, Mary Kellar

On Thursday afternoon of last week, as Mrs. Mar Pickens, wife of Mr. James Pickens of Jefferson township and the daughter of Mr. Louis Kellar was returning to her home from this city after the rally and when about a mile and a half southeast of this city, she fell over on the seat of the carriage as if faint and died almost instantly from a violent attack of heart disease. Deceased was about 46 years of age and was highly esteemed and respected by her friends and neighbors. – kbz.

Died – Mrs. Mary Pickens of heart disease on the road from the Republican rally at Greencastle Thursday. Her death was so sudden that her friends did not know anything was the matter with her until she was dead. – kbz
