PECK, Eugene - Putnam

Michigan City – Eugene M. Peck, 92 of Barker Road, died at 5:15 a.m. Thursday in St. Anthony Hospital.  Mr. Peck retired as president and founder of General Construction Co.  He was born May 14, 1903 in Greencastle, Ind. On Nov 8, 1930 in Council Grove, Kan, he married Metta Taylor. She died March 13, 1987.  Surviving are a son, William T. of Michigan City; three grandchildren, one great grandchild; a sister, Miriam Jasper of Bellaire, Texas; and a brother, Kenneth of San Diego.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Acme Lodge 83 F&AM, South Bend Valley Scottish Rite and Orak Shrine Temple.  He was also a member and past president of Michigan City Rotary Club and exalted ruler of Elks Lodge 432.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Root Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum.  Friends may call from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home where memorial services will be conducted at 7 p.m. by Acme Lodge and 8 p.m. by Elks Lodge.  – kbz
