Benjamin Frank Payton, 1218 W. 34th St, former engineer at City Hospital died yesterday at the hospital. He was 60. He was born in Putnam County and came to Indianapolis in 1898. He was actively engaged in politics before his illness. He was a member of the Broad Ripple Lodge 643, F&AM, the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen Hoosier Lodge 261 and Broad Ripple Chapter 115 OES. The survivors include his wife, Ethel; a son, John; a daughter, Mrs. Madoline Dell; a sister, Mrs. Maud Noe and two brothers, CE & CH Payton all of Indianapolis and three granddaughters, Jean Dell, Patricia Ann Payton and Betty Jane Payton. Services will be conducted at the Royster & Askin Mortuary at 2 p.m. tomorrow with burial at Crown Hill. – kbz
