PAYNE, Caleb Edward - Putnam

Caleb Edward Payne, 87, formerly of Terre Haute died at 2:25 o’clock Saturday morning at the residence of his daughter, Miss Virginia Payne in Geneva, Ill.  Also surviving are five other daughters, Mrs. Lillian Patrick, Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. Clara Lea of Elgin, Ill and Mrs. Betty Mann, Mrs. Dora Parks and Mrs. Susie Clark, all of Terre Haute; four sons, Ben of East St. Louis, Ill; William K of Sweet Home, Ore and Roy and Claude Payne, both of Arlington, VA; 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one niece and three nephews.  He was a member of the Barbour Avenue EUB Church. The body was brought to the Thomas Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon and where services will be held at 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.  – kbz
