Samuel Parrent, a car repairer at the Junction was caught under a car Monday morning and both legs crushed. Physicians amputated the limbs, but he died the same night leaving a wife and several children in poor circumstances. The funeral took place here yesterday conducted by the Foresters of Terre Haute of which he was a member. Ringold’s band of that city furnished the music. The deceased was examining the car wheels at the time of the accident of a car standing on the Vandalia track when a car was run against it from the New Albany road. This started his car forward and he was caught by the wheels. Jerry O’Brien, his helper, narrowly escaped the same fate. -kbz
