Roachdale, June 6 -- Samuel Robert Page, 74 retired farmer expired following a two months illness with heart trouble at 8:10 o'clock this morning at the home of a son, J. Elza Page, four and a half miles east of here on the Barnard Road. Mr. Page was born Aug 15, 1860 in Jackson Township, Putnam County the son of JJ and Annie Page. He was married April 4, 1881 to Rebecca E. Morphew who died in July 1931. The deceased was a member of the Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church. He spent the greater part of his life as a farmer near North Salem and Barnard, ind. Surviving are 4 sons: Lona E, Jesse Elza, Glen and Carrol Paul Page all of near North Salem and Barnard; a daughter, Mrs. Lillie A. Prichett; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Beck of North Salem and Mrs. Cora Davenport of California; 3 brothers, John H., William Frank and Jacob J. all of North Salem; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the barnard Baptist Church in charge of Rev. Ray Britton. Burial will be in the North Salem cemetery. Sam Page, age 74 years died at the home of his son, Elza Page, following an illness of several weeks. Mr. Page was a prominent Eel River Twp farmer and is well known throughout the county. He was born in Putnam County Aug 15, 1860 the son of Jerry and Annie Page. He was united in marriage to Rebecca Morphew who died in 1931. Surviving relatives are four sons: Lona, Elza, Glen and Paul, one daughter, Mrs. Lillie Pritchett; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Beck and Mrs. Cora Davenport of California; three borthers, Frank, Jacob and John all of North Salem. He was a member of Barnard Baptist Church and funeral services were conducted there by Rev. Ray Brittian with interment in North Salem Cemetery.   --- kbz
