Rev. Wm. Pack, pastor of the new Trinity ME Church died at 1 o’clock this afternoon. This intelligence will be a great shock to the many Methodists of the city and to the many friends of Rev. Pack who has been counted one of the foremost young ministers in the city. His death resulted from a slight attack of indigestion followed by congestion of the bowels Sunday he preached and seemed in perfect health. Monday night after returning home from prayer meeting he was attacked with indigestion. Yesterday he talked with Mr. Levering and said he would fill his pulpit Sunday and be ready for a series of revival services next week. Today he was taken much worse and the two attending physicians were unable to stay the fatal turn in his condition. The funeral will be held in Trinity Church Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock conducted by Presiding Elder Wood. The interment will be at Carbon, Ind. Rev. William Pack, came to this country 5 years ago from England, his home there being 60 miles from London. Immediately upon his arrival he entered DePauw University from which he graduated last June. For the past year he has been stationed at Carbon, Ind and early in the summer he was united in marriage to Miss Lucy B. Girton, an estimable young lady of Carbon. Immediately after their marriage, Rev. and Mrs. Pack left for a three months’ visit in England and on their return he was appointed by the Northwest Indiana conference as the first pastor of Trinity ME Church. Rev. Pack was well known in Putnam County where he preached the gospel during his stay in DePauw. -- kbz
