Russellville-James Owens, aged 77 years, died Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas, near Portland Mills. Funeral services were conducted at the M. E. Church here on Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Mr. Hargrave. Interment in Russellville Cemetery.

"Russellville News Item" -- Charles Owens was called to Portland Thursday by the critical illness of his father James Owens, who had taken an overdose of morphine. James Owens, aged 77 died Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas near Portland Mills. Funeral services were conducted at the ME Church here on Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Hargrave. Interment at Russellville cemetery.
