Harriet Ann Ellis was born December 5, 1862, died December 6, 1909 aged 47 years and one day. She was the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. OW Ellis who with her two sisters and two brothers survive her. She identified herself with the Mt. Olive ME Church in early girlhood and was a charter member of the Mt. Olive Missionary Society. She was married to Wesley Oliver Dec 14, 1892 and after a few years residence in Kansas returned to Indiana her death occurring at their home two miles northeast of Greencastle. Three years ago her health failed and she was a constant though uncomplaining sufferer till death released her. She lived an exemplary Christian life. Her quiet unassuming manner covered a heart full of love and helpfulness and her friends and her neighbors could offer many testimonies of loving deeds quietly done. She possessed perfect faith in God an often spoken of the beauties of Heaven and her desire to be at rest. The memory and influence of a loyal and conscious life lingers behind her. Truly it can be said of her “She hath done what she could.”
