The State of Indiana, Putnam County, SS: In the Putnam Circuit Court January term, 1929.  H. Witt Sutherlin, Administrator of the estate of Francis Oliver, deceased, vs. Laura E. Fosher, et all. No. 7073. The plaintiff in the above cause having filed his complaint herein and in said court, together with an affidavit that the defendants, John Oliver and unknown heirs at law, legatees and devisees of John Oliver, deceased are believed to be non residents of the state of Indiana; that the residences of said defendants, John Oliver and the unknown heirs at law, devisees and legatees of John Oliver, deceased, are unknown and, upon diligent inquiry, cannot be ascertained, and this action is to sell the real estate of the decedent, Francis Oliver, to pay debts of his estate, his personal estate being insufficient to pay the debts of said estate. Now, therefore, the said defendants: John Oliver and unknown heirs at law, legatees and devisees of John Oliver, deceased are hereby notified that unless they be and appear on the 20th day of May 1929, in the Putnam Circuit Court at the court house in Putnam County, Indiana at Greencastle, Indiana and answer or demur to said complaint, the same will be heard and determined in their absence. In Witness whereof, I hereunto set my hand and affix the seal of said court this 11th day of March, 1929. Ferd Lucas, Clerk of Putnam Circuit Court.

Dr. Francis Oliver, age 76 years, a Fincastle veterinarian was found dead at his home at the cross roads at Fincastle late Sunday evening by Mr. and Mrs. Lee Graham. Death was caused by heart trouble and it is believed death occurred between 9 and 10 o’clock Saturday night. He was found lying close to a window which he evidently had just put down. Mr. and Mrs. Graham became alarmed Sunday and went in search of him when he failed to appear at their home, where he boarded for meals.  Dr. Oliver had been in ill health for several years. He had lived at Fincastle for the past 20 years. He had lived alone since the death of a brother a number of years ago. He is survived by three nieces, Mrs. Wood Sutherlin of Russellville and two nieces living at Crawfordsville.  Short funeral services were held at the grave at Hartman cemetery Monday afternoon.
