OLCOTT, John Milton - Putnam

Lawrenceburg, Ind, March 12 - The funeral of John Milton Olcott, who died at Stamford, Conn was held at the Hamline Methodist Episcopal Church here and was conducted by the Rev. Charles D. Wilson. Dr. Olcott was born in Dearborn County in 1833. He became a prominent educator and later was in business sin Indianapolis and New York.  The body was buried in the Greendale cemetery beside the body of his wife, who died a few years ago.  Mr. Olcott was a graduate of DePauw University and many years ago, was superintendent of the Greencastle schools.  He will be remembered by many of the older residents of the city.
