Forest Fay "Dick" Obenchain, 32, of nar Jamestown, well known here and a former resident of this community died Wednesday evening of last week at Witham hospital in Lebanon following an illness extending over three years. Mr. Obenchain was well known here and was familiarly known as "Dick" and had many friends in this section. He was born near here September 19, 1907, a son of Frank and Angie Riggle Obenchain. He was married November 29, 1934 to Marjorie Bailey who survives. Until the past few months Mr. Obenchain had been employed at the Sailors and Soldiers' Home at Battleground near Lafayette. Poor health forced him to give up this work. Surviving besides the widow are the parents of near here, a brother Clifford Obenchain, near Maplewood and a sister Mrs. Myrtle Plunkett of near here. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Saturday afternoon with burial in Lizton cemetery    --- thanks so much to Marilyn Walker for donating her wonderful Roachdale Times obituary file for use on this site.
