OBENCHAIN, Flora Couchman - Putnam

Funeral services were held at the Christian church Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Flora Obenchain, 71. Burial was made in Blakesburg cemetery near Fincastle. Mrs. Obenchain died at her home Friday morning of last week after an illness of several years with a complication of diseases. She was born near here March 27, 1871, the daughter of Jacob N. and Mariam Couchman. She was married at Bainbridge to John Henry Obenchain, who survives. Mrs. Obenchain was a member of the Raccoon Methodist church. Other survivors besides the husband are three daughters; Mrs. Naomi Webster of Mishawaka, Mrs. Minnie Sutherlin of Ladoga and Mrs. Helen Lucas of Lebanon; five sons; H.C. Obenchain of Mishawaka, Henry of California, Willard of Ladoga and George and Noble, both of Parkersburg; sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother: John Couchman of this place and sisters; Mrs. Emma Randel of Terre Haute and Mrs. Bertha Stulz of Ladoga    --- thanks so much to Marilyn Walker for donating her wonderful Roachdale Times obituary file for use on this site
