Greencastle, Ind – Oct 27 – A tablet and boulder were unveiled in the Brick Chapel cemetery Sunday afternoon by the O’Hair family of Greencastle and Putnam County in honor of Elizabeth Tribbett O’Hair a pioneer mother, whose descendants live in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Texas. She became the bride of Michael O’Hair, a Revolutionary Soldier, April 4, 1793 in Clark County, Kentucky. Left a widow in 1813, she reared a large family and the men and women into which they grew gave proof of the training they received at their mother’s knee. She died in Putnam County in 1839 while visiting one of her sons. (Note: This was her son, James Eddington O’Hair 5 July 1804 Montgomery County, Kentucky died 25 July 1899 at Brick Chapel, Putnam County).
The memorial service was in charge of Fred L. O’Hair, president of the Central National Bank, Greencastle; James H. Swango, Terre Haute, Frank O’Hair, Paris Ill and Mrs. Archie Allen, president of the O’Hair Family Association.
