NICELY, Eugene Kinsley - Putnam

Eugene K. Nicely, 69, of 2825 Oxford Drive, Springfield died unexpectedly at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday Jan 26 1988 in Ft. Myers Florida. He was born in Putnam County, Indiana Aug 7 1918 the son of Joseph Alfred and Martha Jane (Cookenour) Nicely. He served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the Anthony Lodge 455 F&AM, FOE Number 397 and BPO Elks Lodge.  He was a retired employee of the Ohio Bell Company having worked for them for 42 years. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. David H (Norma) Adams, Springfield; one son, Douglas E. Nicely, Ft Myers; two sisters, Polly Cooper and Geraldine Nicely both of Indiana; three grandchildren, David S. and Gary E. Adams, Kelli A Gould; one great granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Gould and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Elizabeth in 1984; three brothers and five sisters. Friends may call in the Austin Richard and Raff Memorial Home from 2-4 and 7- 9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Memorial Home with Rt Rev Father Daniel Dolan of St Gertrude the Great Roman Catholic Church of Sharonville officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.  Contributions for masses may be sent to the funeral home or the family residence for the sole of the deceased. – kbz
