NEWTON, Harry Raymond - Putnam

Harry Raymond Newton, 76, of Roachdale, father of Mrs. John Sellers of Anderson died Tuesday evening at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. He had been ill for two weeks. Mr. Newton was born July 6, 1883 in Carpentersville, Ind and was the son of Greenberry and Belle Hall Newton.  He married Lema McMullen on Aug 25, 1906 at Crawfordsville. Surviving in addition to the daughter in Anderson are the widow; a granddaughter, Mrs. Carl Ogden, Dayton, Ohio; three great grandchildren and two brothers, Earl Newton, Darlington and Ora Newton, Dinube, Calif. Friends are being received at the Perkins Funeral Home at Roachdale. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with burial in the Roachdale Cemetery. – kbz
