NEWNAM, Corda Vashti - Putnam

Funeral services for Mrs. Corda Vashti Newnam, 80 years old, will be held at 1 p.m. today in the Farley West Morris Street Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Mill Creek Cemetery in Hendricks County.  Mrs. Newnam, 306 East NY Street died Thursday in an Indianapolis Nursing Home.  A native of Putnam County, she had lived in Indianapolis 38 years.  She formerly was employed for 28 years by Real Silk Hosiery Mills.  Mrs. Newnam was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church and its Philathea Class.  She was active in senior citizens work and was a member of the 50-50 Club of the Indianapolis Senior Citizens Center.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lottie Esaman of Indianapolis and Mrs. Louzenia Hodgen of Elkhart, 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Frances Bateman of Roachdale.
