William Wallace Newgent, 77, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dr. Reed on November 9, 1922. He was the son of Edward and Elizabeth Newgent, and was born November 4, 1845 on the old homestead in Clinton Township which was entered by his parents in 1825. On September 1, 1867 he married Patsy Slavens, daughter of Hiram and Nancy Slavens. To thiis union was born 5 daughters: Livonia Belle, Ida Eldora, Lucy Jane, Sarah Elizabeth and Nancy who died in infancy. His wife died June 14, 1900. Survivors include four daughters: Dr. L. Bell Mitchell of Enid, Okla; Mrs Morton Spencer of Bellmore; Mrs. Lucy Jane Reed of Russellville; Mrs. Sadie Burk of Clinton Falls; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, a brother, Isaac Newgent of Brocton, Illinois. Burial in Clinton Falls Cemetery.
