The death of Pearl, daughter of Jackson Nelson of Madison
Township on Friday was as strange as it was unexpected. As soon as her sickness
was discovered Dr. James H. Neff was summoned to give her attention but when he
arrived she was past all hope of recovery. The little girl was visiting her
grandmother, Mrs. Thos. Raggle when she was taken sick. The supposition by many
is that she was accidentally poisoned by eating or drinking something she had
found about the place.
